Although I study many branches of programming, — well, "Software Development" is my course in ATU, Sligo, however the Web Development captivates me the most because it is where creativity meets functionality and convenience. The World Wide Web became a single point of connection for people all around the world, including presenting anything, whether that's a small café, or a hobby shop, or something bigger like a big tech company — literally anything. And so, every project — be it a product landing page, portfolio site, or online store — is an opportunity to solve real problems through thoughtful design and clean code.
What drives me most is the attention to detail required to combine the right tools, technologies, and UX principles. I am passionate about creating digital solutions that truly serve people's needs while pushing the boundaries of what is possible on the Web.
The other core interest of mine is calisthenics? Just like programming, it portrays my persistence, my strive for continuous development and life-long learning, as there is always space to become better.
Translated a unique brand vision into a strikingly adorable landing website for a handmade natural stone jewellery brand. Fully prototyped the visual identity in Figma before bringing the design to life with clean, production-ready code.
Solved my own painpoint: authored a robust Bash script to automate the sorting of thousands of photos and videos into a structured YYYY/MM/DD directory format.
Developed a console application in C# to model and manage a fleet of vehicles, demonstrated a strong understanding of OOP principles:
Since I am pursuing a major in Software Development, I see Web Design & Development as my way of changing the world for the better. Websites are everywhere — on our home devices, at work, powering everything from online shops to healthcare systems. Even a small inconsistency in accessibility, usability, or code quality can lead to serious consequences — frustrated users, broken systems, or barriers for people who rely on them. That’s what I aim to combat: building websites that are reliable, accessible, and designed for everyone.
Websites are everywhere — on our home devices where families manage their daily lives, at work where teams collaborate across continents, powering everything from small local businesses to global e-commerce platforms, from telemedicine systems that save lives to educational portals that democratize learning. Every click, every form submission, every user interaction ripples through real people's lives in tangible ways.
Even a small inconsistency in accessibility, usability, or code quality can lead to serious consequences that extend far beyond technical metrics. A poorly designed checkout process doesn't just lose sales — it can prevent a small business owner from feeding their family. An inaccessible government website doesn't just fail compliance standards — it denies citizens their fundamental rights. A slow-loading healthcare portal doesn't just hurt performance scores — it can delay critical medical care. These aren't hypothetical scenarios; they're daily realities affecting millions of users who depend on these systems, like I do.
That's what I aim to combat: building websites that are reliable, accessible, and designed for everyone. I believe that inclusive design isn't just a nice-to-have feature — it's a moral imperative. When I write code, I'm not just solving technical problems; I'm building bridges that connect people to opportunities, services, and each other. Every semantic HTML element, every carefully crafted CSS rule, every accessibility consideration is a step toward a more equitable digital world.
In the end, quality Web Development creates a positive cascade: businesses grow, users feel empowered, communities become more connected, and society becomes more inclusive. This is why I approach each project — whether it's a simple landing page or a complex e-commerce platform — with the understanding that good code can genuinely improve lives, one user experience at a time.
